Eating Through Insomnia

Nothing gets quite as frustrating as when you cannot sleep and the DVD player isn't working. Yes, so much for watching the last episode of Eli Stone, Disc 1. Or "The Producers" for the 100th time. Or even the shopping channel selling me tacky nail polish (our TV is cut).

Instead, I'm being "productive" at 4:11 am on a Sunday morning and writing this blog. The Faithless song "Insomnia" keeps playing through my mind- "I can't get no sleep." But with the coolest drum bass and techno beats installed in that track, I wouldn't blame Maxi Jazz for not sleeping either.

Alas, there is no loud, funky music to excuse my insomnia. My roommate's out of town, my brother's back in London, and the apartment is, well, dead quiet.

Tonight I had red wine, ate BBQ, and (in the last hour) devoured most of the contents of my fridge. So much for food coma. Red wine salami is good. So is cheese. I love cheese.

Valium anyone?

My Bro is a Sunny Surface

It's amazing what a 21 year old brother visiting from London can re-invigorate in you. An old lifestyle perhaps? A reminder of how once-upon-a-time nothing really was at stake and hangovers were a lot easier to get over? Check, check & CHECK!

Take the "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" wrap party on Wednesday night. There I was, downing 6 shots, drinking 6 drinks (and smoking 5 cigarettes apparently!?) on an empty stomach, believing my liver was 21, when actually the entire Thursday day and night I was reminded it was not.

Yes, it may seem strange that I am talking like an old lady when I'm not THAT much older than my bro but still, those years make a difference don't they?

CHECK.

What happened at the "Sunny" party I hear you yell? Uh, good question. Um, I remember flashing cameras. The series regs in "Mad Men" suits, FX editors complimenting my character and then a few cute boys at the bar. The rest is darkness. Wahahaha...Lord Voldemort had struck me again....the drink that is, not the Harry Potter bad guy.
